Taiko offers a unique style of musical expression, with the added benefits of physical exercise, rhythmic awareness and team based training.
The classes, run by the Tasmania University Union Taiko Society, are designed to encourage student interest in Taiko drumming and to foster an appreciation of Japanese culture in Tasmania. Students are introduced to the basic Taiko rhythms and learn a little history of this dynamic Japanese musical tradition.
