New training dojo

Our new training venue at the Showgrounds is going well.

For those of you who haven't found it yet, it is situated under the main grandstand of the Royal Hobart Showgrounds. The gates to the Showgrounds are usually open. You can drive into the main front gates near the Brooker Highway or the rear gates off Howard Road. The new dojo is situated underneath the grandstand on ground level, and the entrance door is at the back of the building. A map is available at http://www.taikodrum.com/images/map.jpg

Training

Beginners Introductory Taiko Course.

Tuesday 11th September
6:30 - 8:30pm
4 week course is $40 for adults, and $25 for children. Family discounts available. Please enquire for details.

SEPTEMBER TRAINING:
Training will be held during September as per usual:
Monday 6 to 8 pm (advanced)
Tuesday 6.30 to 8.30 (beginners introductory course)
Wednesday 6.30 to 8.30 (performers)
Thursday 6.30 to 8.30 (beginners - for continuing members)

Moonah Arts Centre Taiko Workshop
29 SEPTEMBER - MOONAH ARTS CENTRE
10am – 3pm
$44 per participant
Starting from basics, participants will be taught the fundamental rhythmic patterns from which Japanese Taiko Drumming has evolved. All aspects of Wadaiko will be explored. Taiko is relatively simple; no musical experience is necessary. It is a highly physical endeavour, so wear loose clothing.
